GEBE Mascot Name Competition

May 30, 2008

GEBE embarked upon a competition as of June 1 to name the company’s two Mascots, one for electricity and the other for water. The competition will conclude on June 30 being the last day for submissions. The winner will be announced in July and the competition is being held under the theme, “What’s My Name.”

It is for school children from Kindergarten to Grade 6 students, on St. Maarten, Saba and St. Eustatius.

GEBE Managing Director William Brooks encourages pupils to take the opportunity to name the company’s mascots in the last few days left of the competition.

Brooks added that the prize for the best names entails a donation to the school and a prize for the winner.

Kids should come up with a name for the GEBE water and electricity mascots. In addition, they must write a description, no longer than 50 words, describing why their name would be best. Information that MUST be included with entry: Student name, age, school, grade, contact number, home address and e-mail address.

Entries can be submitted via e-mail to gebesxm@nvgebe.com, fax at 542-4810 or dropped in GEBE drop boxes at the GEBE office in Philipsburg, Simpson Bay, Saba and Statia.
